Vision
The Field Analysis of Mathematics Education (FAME) project aims to illustrate a historical perspective of the evolution of mathematics education in order to demonstrate some existing and potentially emergent connections between research focus areas, academic institutions, and influential figures (across time and place).
The FAME project allows for the exploration of the field of mathematics education from a longitudinal* perspective to better understand and analyze networks describing:

About Us
Farshid Safi
Founder and Director, FAME Project Farshid.Safi@ucf.edu, is a K-12 Mathematics Education Faculty member at the School of Teacher Education at the University of Central Florida. He focuses on developing teachers conceptual understanding of K-16 mathematics through an emphasis on connections and coherence while engaging and empowering students through mathematical experiences. He researches the role of historical perspectives and the evolution of the field of mathematics education as a part of the preparation of mathematics teacher educators. |
Siddhi Desai
Data Visualizations Creator and Analyst, FAME Project Siddhi.Desai@knights.ucf.edu, is a doctoral student at the University of Central Florida. Her research focuses on studying the integration of mathematics, art, history, and modeling to engage students in rich mathematical experiences. She also researches the role of historical perspectives in understanding the evolution of the field of mathematics education. |
